Making money the new school way- through ads on the blog

So I just got my own domain for main site Frum Satire and its time to start making some dough. Originally these were not my plans, but everyone said what have I got to lose so I thought why not?
I have heard some folks say that by putting ads you will be less likely to concentrate on the writing and worry about people clicking. I personally have the oppisite feeling. I feel that ads will force me to come up with better ideas so I can get more people coming back to my site. It will also mean I am more likely to edit my work more closely.
